IRC-SLIA 2024

The Sri Lanka Institute of Architects (SLIA), a beacon of architectural excellence and education, is delighted to present the inaugural International Research Conference on Architectural research, IRC-SLIA 2024. This year, our theme is "To soar beyond the stars, in society's endless embrace", echoing our commitment to advancing architectural research and education in Sri Lanka and beyond.

About SLIA

Established with a vision to advance architectural practice, education, and research, SLIA stands as a cornerstone of the architectural community in Sri Lanka. For many decades, SLIA has been at the forefront of promoting excellence, creativity, and sustainability within the built environment.

In curating this event, our purpose is manifold:

  • Promoting Intellectual Exchange: Hosting a research conference provides SLIA with a unique opportunity to foster intellectual exchange among architects, scholars, and industry professionals. By bringing together diverse perspectives and expertise, SLIA can catalyze discussions on pressing issues facing the architectural profession and explore innovative solutions.
  • Advancing Architectural Knowledge: A research conference serves as a platform for showcasing the latest advancements in architectural research and practice. By organizing such an event, SLIA can contribute to the dissemination of cutting-edge knowledge, methodologies, and best practices, thereby enriching the architectural discourse in Sri Lanka.
  • Strengthening Professional Development:Research conferences offer valuable opportunities for architects to engage in professional development activities, such as presenting papers, attending workshops, and networking with peers. By hosting a conference, SLIA can empower its members to enhance their skills, expand their professional networks, and stay abreast of emerging trends in the field.
  • Fostering Collaborative Partnerships: A research conference provides a platform for forging collaborative partnerships with academic institutions, industry stakeholders, and government agencies. By collaborating with key stakeholders, SLIA can leverage collective expertise and resources to address complex challenges facing the built environment and drive positive change.
